Meg Bumpstead

Meg Bumpstead was promoted to Director, Perioperative and Critical Care Nursing and Otology, GENI during 2024 following her work as Senior Project Manager, GENI.

Meg is a Health Management Consultant, Founding Director Clear Ears Pty Ltd and Critical Care Registered Nurse. She has a long-standing passion for improving quality and access to health care.  Meg has over thirty years’ experience in the health sector with roles in hospital management, freelance management consulting, community health board director, health service start-up, critical care clinical practice and in education.  Meg also participates on international aid missions.

Meg currently works as a consultant on Clinical Panels providing health management advisory services to both Government and the Private Sector, whilst also managing Clear Ears as a co-founder – having recently expanded the Clear Ears Learning training to Europe.  Meg continues to also practice part time Critical Care Nursing, in both Post-Anaesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and Anaesthesia in a busy 15 Theatre complex providing surgical services across all surgical specialties excluding trauma services.

Meg’s start-up Clear Ears was founded in 2011 and was labelled as a “disruptive and innovative start-up” being the first Australian health service to be completely cloud based and offer patients online booking processes. Clear Ears also established the first course in Aural Care in Australia for micro-suction and curettage wax management techniques to ensure Clear Ears Nurses practice to the highest standard of care, and within accepted scope of practice for Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Clear Ears online Aural Care course www.clearearslearning.com was developed in collaboration with digital learning experts at DeakinCo (Deakin University) to enable translation of theoretical learning to practical skill attainment for busy clinicians challenged to find time in their busy work life to attend face-2-face training.
